Education through exhibition has always been a objective of Constro International Fair. In the past Pune Construction Engineering Research Foundation has been promoting new experiments and research relevant to Building Design, Construction Technology and Manufacturers of Equipments. In this context- the theme of Constro 2012 International Fair will try and address some of the issues related to construction industry for the next two or three decades.

We are already witnessing enormous growth in construction industry in India. There is a huge investment committed by Government and Private Companies. Besides this, a lot of international companies have also invested in various projects in the country. In order to make the proposed investment more meaningful , there is a need to give the appropriate direction to this spending.

It is projected that the market for Rs. 3 to 10 Lakh housing is worth 11 Lakh Crore with an unserved demand for 21 million households.

In next 30 years, it is estimated that the power requirement of the country is going to grow to about ten folds.

We are already witnessing the wrath of irresponsible and unplanned use of our natural resources in the past.

In order to deal with above mentioned challenges - we need to be more innovative and responsible in our future actions related to design and execution of new constructions.

I am sure our forthcoming Fair will give ample opportunities to Designers, Manufacturers, Contractors and Vendors to share their experiments, in promoting new and appropriate technologies, products, finishes and machineries – which will help the construction Industry to set in new benchmarks.
